You will work closely with the Finance & Administration function and Project Development Director.
Role Overview:
The primary purpose of this is to build upon our current investment platform, its management capability and reputation, and to grow its current assets and portfolio of funds to sustain network growth and impact.
We are at a pivotal point in our evolution, with the potential for exponential growth. The successful candidate will need to be a strategic thinker, with an entrepreneurial mind set and a high tolerance for risk, as well as being adaptable and able to deal with ambiguity and change.
You will be a part of the Executive Team.
Key responsibilities:
- Strategy
- Provide financial models for forecasting/testing the robustness of Our investment strategy
- Treasury
- Manage Our treasury to ensure capital adequacy
- Monitor/manage risks
- Investment
- Devise investment strategies to achieve Our strategic objectives
- Undertake due diligence of existing and new partner organisations
- Monitor the performance of loans and investments
- Analyse investments
- Managing investor relationships (including reporting)
- Development
- Develop processes and data systems to enable effective analysis, estimation and decision-making
- Refine existing investment facilities and developing new where required
- Fundraising
- Develop new investment products
- Support marketing initiatives to secure new investment
- Work closely with the Director of Business Development to support fundraising activities
- Leadership
- Develop and inspire a team to implement the strategy and to achieve objectives and targets
- Ensure all team members represent Refill in the best light
- Mentor staff to ensure personal and organisational development

- Participate in strategy reviews, strategy development, and the operationalisation thereof

Changes to responsibilities:

Other requirements:
- The post is based in Bradford, and involves travel both within the UK and internationally

Compensation Package:
- Salary – Competitive, negotiable depending on experience
- Location – Bradford
- Normal office hours are 9ÿ00am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday. Additional work is normally
- arranged in line with job responsibilities
- 25 days plus Bank Holidays
- A TOIL (time off in lieu of travel) policy is in place to compensate for overseas travel

Person Specification
Education:
- Qualifications in business studies, fund management, statistics, finance, mathematics, accounting or economics
Essential:
- MBA or similar advanced degree in a related field
- Financial Services Authority registration/accreditation
- Consolidated experience in Investment Management, Treasury Management or senior
- Investment Analyst role Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of the alternative finance market
- Extensive existing personal networks of key early stage investors
- Experience in structuring equity and debt financing deals
- Demonstrable experience in both the demand and supply of business finance and investment
- Skilled influencer and persuader who challenges in an objective way; strong negotiation skills and ability to say ‘no ‘ diplomatically where required
- Excellent financial modelling skills
- A practical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to make clear and concise decisions
- An excellent presenter who is confident in pitching at a Board level. Ability to effectively deliver presentations on complex financial and economic topics to a broad audience
- Knowledge of fund management software
- Superior organisational skills, with an eye for detail
- Practical and technical knowledge of legal and regulatory issues affecting commercial contracts
- Effective relationship management skills and demonstrated credibility with investment teams
- Excellent computer literacy skills, including advanced MS Excel skills, MS Word and MS Outlook
- Self-disciplined, with the ability to work on your own or as part of a team
- Ability and willingness to travel
Preferable:
- Experience in real estate investment
- Experience in frontier markets
- Impact investment/social enterprise experience
- Experience in dealing with multiple currencies/developing country currencies
Desirable:
Ability to assess and evaluate real estate investments
Working knowledge of relevant foundations and grant-making organisations that are relevant to the
enterprise sector
Knowledge of emerging economies, real estate and infrastructure markets, and asset classes
Experience working within general banking or financial services

Ability to support business development and client retention efforts
Knowledge of Treasury Management Systems
